Healthy Habits for Healthy Kids

Recently I was lucky enough to receive one of these super cute Super Healthy Kids plates. My nearly 3 year old daughter was so excited when I opened up the package. She couldn't wait to eat off of it! I'm thinking she may just be the perfect age to start using this plate. She's young and impressionable. Her daddy hasn't passed on his hate of vegetables yet, and if I have anything to do with it he never will. Plus, she loves making things match. So she can make her food match the different compartments. It's genius! And right now these plates are only $5.00!!!

Super Healthy Kids was established in 2007 with the goal of teaching families to become healthier. When you visit Super Healthy Kids you can get serving suggestions for proteins, grains and fruits & veggies to help your little ones learn to be healthy. Some of their suggestions that I like are adding frozen fruits, such as blueberries or strawberries, to pancake batter or dipping fruits in yogurt or cottage cheese. There are so many ways you can make healthy eating fun and this site is a great resource for learning how.

Amy, the founder of Super Healthy Kids, even has a blog where you can read about her family's journey to become a super healthy family. She has a degree in health education and is using her blog as a way to practice what she preaches. So check out the Super Healthy Kids plate and read her blog. You have nothing to lose, only great insight on being healthier to gain.

My kid loves compartments. It must be a toddler thing!

Awesome! Wish I had that 16 years ago. I have one anti-vegite, and another anti-fruiti-vegite (6'0", 185 lbs, all muscle, raised on cold cereal).

Really great idea and concept! I really dislike those divided plates tho, I dunno what it is about them lol

That's absolutely brilliant!

I found that letting my kids participate (to a point) in cooking helped them become interested in what they were eating. Don't go overboard, but I did manage to get them to eat cauliflower as tiny kids by chopping it up (steamed) and mixing it into mac and cheese.

You're a good mom to take vegetables so seriously. I think the plate will help. xoxox Mom
