With all the stick thin, size 0 celebrities in the magazines, t.v. shows and movies the nation's youth watch everyday, it's no wonder the majority of girls between 8 and 17 feel they don't measure up in one way or another. These feelings effect other aspects of their life and it just spirals down from there. Because of these findings Dove's
Campaign for Real Beauty is working even harder to bring resources to girls to help them realize their true worth.

When you visit the
Campaign for Real Beauty you can download
free self-esteem building tools, including:
- True You and Mirror, Mirror booklets
- Interactive exercises
- Workshop Facilitator Guide DVD
Why does Dove do all this? Because when they found out that only 2% of women around the world described themselves as beautiful they felt they had to do something. They invite you to challenge stereotypes and discuss real beauty.
Dove is hoping to reach 5 million young women by 2010 with their Self-Esteem Fund. The fund helps support the Boys and Girls Club of America and the Girl Scouts as well as organizations around the world.
I encourage you to check out the resources they have available to help you and your children with self-esteem issues. As a mother of two daughters I really see the importance of making my girls believe the truth, which is that they are beautiful and wonderful girls.
